How many versions of AudioManager are there?
There are currently two flavors of AudioManager, there’s a free version and there’s a fully featured “Pro” version.
Which versions of Android is AudioManager compatible with?
AudioManager is compatible with Android versions running 1.5 and above. It is also available and fully optimized for Android Tablets and Google TV.
How can I download AudioManager to my device?
AudioManager is currently available in the Android Market. To download it, go to the market and search for “AudioManager”. Alternatively, you can also click from your Android device here to get the Free version or here for the Pro version.
I’m having problems downloading or installing AudioManager from the Market, what do I do?
For issues having to do with downloading or installing from the Android Market, please contact the Android Market support team directly. The Android Market support site can be found here http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/.
Does AudioManager increases battery consumption?
AudioManager does not affect battery consumption on your phone, meaning that it will not drain your battery out in a matter of hours. Volume level readings can be adjusted accordingly or set to Never update.
What volume levels can I adjust with AudioManager?
AudioManager allows you to adjust volume levels for Alerts, Music, Notifications, System, Voice call and Ringer volume.
Is there a way to launch AudioManager without having the widget on my home-screen?
Yes, to launch the Console simply go to your application launch pad and you will notice an icon for it in there. Alternatively, you can go to Menu > Settings and select and enable the “Status bar shortcut” to access the console from your notifications bar.
Can I create and distribute my own skins for AudioManager Pro?
Yes, you may create and distribute your very own skins for AudioManager Pro. We have released the Skin Development Kit (SDK) which contains the files and documentation needed to help you get started. Click here to download the SDK.
What does System volume control?
System volume will control miscellaneous sound effects such as your Camera app’s shutter sound, or the dial tones heard when dialing a number. A couple other related sound effects controlled by this volume stream can be found inside the Maps and Navigation apps.
My volumes seem to change by themselves during the day, What do I do?
AudioManager does not arbitrarily change your volume levels, it explicitly requires user interaction for it to make changes to any of the volume streams. Other system or third-party applications are also allowed to change your volume streams, so this would explain why sometimes your volume levels seem different than before.
My widget is not updating itself anymore, what do I do?
This may occur after updating AudioManager to a newer version. All you need to do is delete and then re-add the widget to your home-screen to solve this issue.
I purchased AudioManager Pro but I still see ads inside the application, what do I do?
AudioManager Pro does not contain any ads, it is a stand-alone application that is installed on your device. If you are still seeing ads then chances are you accidentally opened the free version and not the pro version. You may delete the free version from your device at any time as this is not required for pro version to run.
The alerts and ringer volume streams are linked, what do I do?
This is typically the default behavior for volume in Android. You may link or unlink the ringer and alerts volume streams at any time. To do so, go to AudioManager’s Settings and then check or uncheck the Linking option from there.
Is AudioManager compatible with other third party apps running in the background?
Yes, there are no known compatibility issues with any third-party software.
How do I set a recurring schedule for a saved profile?
To create an automatic schedule for any profile, simply go to the profiles screen, long-press on any profile and select the “Set schedule” option. This will in turn open a configuration dialog where you will be able to set your recurring scheduled profiles.
How do I backup and restore my saved profiles?
To create a backup of your profiles or to simply restore a previous backup, go to the profiles screen and press your menu button, this will reveal two options for backing up or restoring your profiles. Make sure your SD card is ready before you proceed with any of these two options.
